This role involves navigating, handling, and maintaining the launch during pilot transfers and marine operations, working closely with the Albany Coxswain team to ensure pilots are embarked and disembarked safely and professionally.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate and Maintain the Pilot Launch Ensure the Albany Port pilot launch is properly maintained, seaworthy, and operational at all times in accordance with Southern Ports' policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Plan and Oversee Vessel Maintenance and Repairs Schedule, supervise, and perform regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs to vessels, including vessel removals from the water and coordination of specialist contractors when required.Ensure Compliance with Safety and Regulatory Standards Schedule, action, and log inspections of onboard equipment, maintain vessel logbooks and records, and ensure all safety, pyrotechnic, and navigational equipment is current and compliant with statutory obligations.Lead and Support Operational Personnel Guide, support, and develop employees engaged in launch operations, promoting safe work practices, teamwork, and adherence to Southern Ports' Safety Management System.Perform Emergency Response Duties Actively participate in emergency response functions, training, exercises, and drills to ensure preparedness and effective response to marine incidents.Contribute to Marine Services and Port Operations Assist with the servicing of navigational aids, maintenance of tide gauges, hydrographic surveys, and general upkeep of the pilot launch, marina compound, and associated marine equipment.RequiredCurrent Master
