CUSTOMS HOUSE HOTEL is a vibrant and welcoming hotel that prides itself on providing exceptional guest experiences. We are currently looking for a Casual Receptionist to join our front desk team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Reception: Warmly greet and check-in/check-out hotel guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reservations Management: Handle phone, email, and in-person inquiries, making and amending reservations, and providing guests with necessary information about their stay.
  • Guest Services: Assist guests with special requests, directions, and information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Accounting & Money Handling: Accurately process payments, handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain proper accounting of all financial transactions. Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Administrative Support: Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate departments. Maintain accurate guest records and process payments.
  • Room Assignment: Allocate rooms according to guest preferences, ensuring smooth transitions and prompt service.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Problem Resolution: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications:

  • Availability: Must be available 7 days a week with flexibility to work morning (from 6:30am start) or afternoon (to 8pm) shifts. Ideally, you can commit to at least 2 to 4 shifts per week.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in a hotel or similar customer-facing role is a must. Experience in a high-paced environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in guest records, reservations, and special requests.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
  • Basic computer literacy (experience with hotel reservation software is a plus).
  • Friendly and professional demeanor, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
