We are seeking a vibrant, committed and compassionate team member to join our experienced Bethlehem House team in the role of Receptionist.

As part of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Bethlehem House offers short-term crisis and transitional accommodation and support, as well as long-term accommodation for men in need.

This role will be the first point of contact for Bethlehem House residents, staff, volunteers and general public. The Receptionist will support the staff and management with general administration duties and rostering. Situated in the front of house hub of our facility, this people facing role offers variety and connection with others in a supportive team environment.

This role is offered as a permanent part time role, with some flexibility around days and hours worked. Growth and training opportunities are available for those looking for a career in the social services sector.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in the social or community services sector preferred
  • High level administration skills
  • Competent with Microsoft applications and Outlook diary management
  • Experience or knowledge of rostering is an advantage
  • Relatable experience dealing with cohorts of people that are facing homelessness, extreme barriers or disadvantage
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Exceptional customer service skills and communication skills, with adaptability relevant to the cohort
  • Effective time management skills
  • A can-do attitude and commitment to the values of St Vincent de Paul Society
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality, privacy principles and professional boundaries
  • Ability to build, foster and manage relationships with key stakeholders and other like-minded organisations
  • Willingness to assist with event management or attend representing The Society
  • Motivation to be part of the greater Society Team and collaborate appropriately
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS legislation

The successful applicant must hold a current compliant National Police Check, along with a valid Working With Vulnerable People Card or the ability to obtain.
