About the Role

Here at G.J. Gardner Homes Ipswich, we pride ourselves on delivering top-quality residential homes with exceptional craftsmanship. Due to consistent growth, we are seeking two skilled and reliable tradespeople to join our team: Carpenter and Leading Hand.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified carpenters who are passionate about their trade and committed to the highest standards of workmanship. You will get to apply your skills across a wide variety of projects, from simple designs to complex custom builds, ensuring a diverse and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of residential carpentry, including framing, fixing, and fit-off.
  • Interpret and work from building plans and job specifications.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • (Leading Hand) Oversee apprentices, subcontractors, and coordinate site tasks where required.

  • Qualified Carpenter: You hold a relevant trade qualification and have proven experience in residential construction.
  • Skilled & Experienced: You are proficient in a wide range of carpentry tasks and take pride in your work.
  • Self-Motivated & Organised: You take initiative, can work independently, and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: You enjoy collaborating with others, sharing knowledge, and supporting your colleagues.
  • Safety-Conscious: You adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Equipped for the Job: You have a valid driver's licence, your own reliable work ute, and a comprehensive set of necessary tools.
