About the role

IDM Instruments Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team in Hallam, Victoria. This full-time role will involve utilising your extensive technical expertise and sales skills to drive growth for our leading range of industrial instruments and automation solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Actively identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities within your designated territory
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business
  • Providing technical product advice and demonstrations to customers, ensuring their needs are fully understood and met
  • Collaborating with our internal teams to develop tailored solutions for customers
  • Preparing and delivering sales proposals and presentations
  • Achieving individual and team sales targets
  • Maintaining detailed customer records and reporting on sales activities

What we're looking for

  • Proven track record of success in a technical sales or account management role, preferably within the industrial automation or instrumentation industry
  • Excellent technical knowledge and the ability to understand and explain complex products and solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers
  • Proven problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, science or a related field
