We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth for our range of Composite Decking and related timber and building products across key trade, retail, and commercial channels.

This role combines strategic business development with hands-on account management, focusing on expanding market share, strengthening relationships with distributors, merchants, and builders, and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities for our Composite decking and associated timber/building product lines across trade, retail, and commercial segments.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans to expand market presence and achieve sales targets.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders — including builders, architects, landscapers, and merchants — to promote product adoption and brand awareness.
  • Conduct product presentations, site visits, and training sessions to educate customers on product features, installation, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to plan promotions, campaigns, and trade events that drive lead generation.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.

Account Management

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular engagement and exceptional service delivery.
  • Develop account plans to ensure consistent growth and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Coordinate with internal operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and delivery.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key accounts to assess performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support dealers and distributors with merchandising, staff training, and joint sales activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in business development or account management within the timber, building materials, or construction products industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share in a competitive environment.
  • Strong understanding of the decking, outdoor living, or building products market.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Marketing background looked upon favourably
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the designated territory.
