Nino's Victor Harbor is seeking multiple Sous Chefs for its busy restaurant situated in Victor Harbor, South Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team under our Head Chef to ensure the food we offer our valued and loyal customers is always delivered to an exceptional standard.

The ideal candidate will have longevity in previous positions and must have a real passion for creating fresh, seasonal, healthy food and show flair and creativity through our menus. Your proven track record in staff management and control of food costs, performance management and quality control will be critical to your success in applying for this role.

Key Duties

  • Al a carte meal preparation
  • Working as a leader of the team within kitchen operations
  • Deliver to our customer's high expectations of a premium dining experience in an intimate family environment
  • Maintain an overall knowledge and passion for nutrition and healthy eating
  • Oversee operation of kitchen when Head Chef absent
  • Menu development alongside Head Chef and other Chefs
  • Observation of and implementation of allergy awareness controls
  • Monitor costs with special regard to portion control, waste minimisation and stock control
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety and food safety standardsassist in the training and observation of junior kitchen staff

Qualifications and Employment Experience

  • Commercial Cookery qualifications essential
  • At least three years' relevant full time employment experience working at a Sous Chef or higher level
  • A proven track record as a team player who is able to work autonomously and under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner
  • Excellent and Innovative culinary skills
  • Be motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery
  • Solid knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experience managing and training junior kitchen staff

Salary payable pursuant to Award – base annualised salary in the order of $70, $80,000.00.
