Perth Racing is seeking a Cellar person to join our vibrant and fast-paced team for the Ascot Racing Carnival. As a casual employee, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our popular beverage outlets. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fun, social environment. The atmosphere is electric, and you can be part of the excitement that is unique to Perth Racing.

What is the Role?

We are looking for team players with Cellar experience who are focused on customer service and work well in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, can follow procedures, and who shine when things get busy and energetic.  Every event is different at Perth Racing, so flexibility and adaptability are key.

For the superstars in our team, we have shifts available for raceday and non-raceday events all year round, above and beyond our Ascot Racing Carnival.

Duties

  • Perform Cellar duties preparing the Club for the day's trading.
  • Re-stock bars and cold rooms ensuring stock rotation, maintaining equipment and facilities including beer line cleaning
  • Deliver stock across the venue on race days
  • Receive liquor and other stock deliveries.
  • Clean and organise back of house areas including cellar, loading docks and cold rooms.
  • Monthly stocktakes
  • Security of cellar and general maintenance
  • Sound understanding of WHS management and a proactive approach to safety

To be successful in these roles you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the operation and maintenance of modern cellar functions including knowledge of beer pumps and maintenance to ensure quality of beer products
  • Relevant Cellar experience in reputable venues

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Availability to work Saturday day shifts

  • Be energetic and physically fit as this role requires manual handling

  • RSA and Safe Food Handler Certificates
  • Forklift licences highly desirable
