Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing in Europe, you will own and set the strategy and direction across the APAC business. While the majority of sales are driven by the ANZ business, you are also responsible for Asian markets.

This organisation holds a leading position within its industry, with enviable market share in key market segments and is seeking further opportunities to penetrate the volume parts of its market. You will be measured on your ability to increase sales and market share while maintaining profitability.

The sales and marketing team spend their time nurturing leads and consulting with architects, interior designers, engineers, mainly commercial builders, contractors and end clients. Current employees will tell you how much they enjoy working with the business, and former employees often speak fondly of their time there.

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the sales, marketing, financial and operational performance of the business as you lead and develop the team. The majority of employees are sales and marketing staff; therefore a candidate with a sales and marketing background is ideal.

Previous experience within the building and construction industry is preferred. What is of greater importance is the ability to demonstrate a level of agility in relation to effectively setting and achieving company goals and executing against strategic outcomes, particularly with regard to sales, marketing and operations. An ability to listen to customer needs and understand market trends to capitalise on is essential.

The successful incumbent will have proven and referenceable skills in relation to managing teams of 30 or more staff and be able to translate global strategic objectives into local goals, action plans and results.
