Research Engagement Coordinator

The Research Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in helping to promote the College's research capabilities and successes. You'll create engaging communication materials, support College research events, and coordinate activities that showcase our research to a wide range of audiences. This role offers the chance to plan and deliver communication activities across channels such as web, intranet, social media, print and events. You'll work closely with research centres and groups to understand their needs, tell their stories, and contribute to building the profile of research across the College. You'll also collaborate with the College Communications Business Partner and colleagues across RMIT, giving you opportunities to contribute ideas, grow your professional skills, and develop a long-term career in research communications.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience using modern communications tools and platforms (e.g. social media, EDM management tools). Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but not essential.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail.

  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to build positive relationships across teams.

  • An interest in research and higher education, and a desire to build a career in communications and engagement.

  • Commitment to learning, problem solving and contributing to the ongoing success of the College.

This role is ideal for someone looking to establish and grow their career in a supportive environment while contributing to the long-term success of RMIT's research community.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
