The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will lead Care Economy CRC's communication and engagement strategy to connect, inform, and strengthen relationships with partners, government, and sector stakeholders.

This is a dynamic, multi-faceted role where you will:

  • Develop and implement targeted communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Deliver high-quality content across media releases, newsletters, annual reports, social media, and website.
  • Manage Care Economy CRC brand, ensuring consistency with style guidelines and Commonwealth requirements.
  • Plan and deliver events and workshops, from logistics to promotion and post-event analysis.
  • Monitor sector trends and provide strategic engagement advice to support innovation and influence policy.

Who We're Looking For:

Skills

  • Ability to develop and execute targeted communication and engagement plans.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with universities, government and industry partners.
  • Skilled in writing, editing, and publishing for various formats and channels (media releases, newsletters, reports, social media).
  • Proficiency in platforms like MailChimp, Eventbrite, LinkedIn, and website CMS.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, logistics, promotion, and execution of events and workshops.
  • Understanding of brand strategy and compliance with style guidelines.
  • Ability to analyse sector trends and provide strategic engagement and communication advice.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Experience

  • Experience working in communications, stakeholder engagement, or public relations, ideally within a research, government, or care sector context.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing events and stakeholder forums.
  • Familiarity with government relations and working with Commonwealth departments.
  • Experience in content development for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Experience in communicating research outcomes and impact is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Willing to undertake working with children and police checks
