About the role

Are you a passionate Health and Safety professional looking to make an impact? Environmental Industries' is seeking a hands-on part-time (24 hours a week) Health and Safety Officer based in Canning Vale, WA to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, ensuring the wellbeing of our employees across our maintenance and construction operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting regular toolbox meetings, workplace inspections, emergency drills, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  2. Implementing, monitoring and facilitating safety policies, procedures and training programs
  3. Investigating incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
  5. Providing advice and support to managers and employees on occupational health and safety matters
  6. Maintaining comprehensive records and reporting on safety performance metrics
  7. Collaborating with the wider team to foster a positive safety culture across the organisation
  8. H&S administration

What we're looking for

  1. Someone available to conduct early hours safety meetings.
  2. Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  3. Experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably within the trade or construction industries
  4. Excellent knowledge of work health and safety legislation, regulations and best practices
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address safety risks
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels
  7. Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive safety culture
  8. A genuine passion for promoting and maintaining a safe workplace
