About the role

Western Health is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team, supporting the delivery of the New Footscray Hospital through a Public Private Partnership (PPP). This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial integrity and transparency across a complex infrastructure project that directly contributes to Western Heath's strategic focus of providing Best Care to communities across Melbourne's west.

As a key liaison between Western Health, the Department of Health, Project Co, and other stakeholders, you'll be instrumental in managing financial reporting, compliance, and contract obligations. Your work will help shape the future of healthcare infrastructure in Victoria.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage financial reporting and compliance obligations related to the New Footscray Hospital PPP
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including the Department of Health, Project Co, and NFH project teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reconciliations
  • Assist with audit preparation, assurance activities, and the development of financial year-end statements specific to the PPP
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team

About you:

  • CPA/CA qualification
  • Experience in Public Private Partnerships or large-scale infrastructure projects (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly skilled and enthusiastic team
  • You're a proactive and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • You bring strong technical accounting skills and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to communicate clearly across diverse stakeholder groups

We also operate Sunbury Community Hospital, Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre, Melton Health and Community Services, Bacchus Marsh Community Health Centre, Caroline Springs Community Health Centre and Grant Lodge Residential Aged Care in Bacchus Marsh. Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women's prison located in Ravenhall.
