Financial Reporting Accountant

Permanent | Full-time | Melbourne

We're looking for a motivated Financial Reporting Accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a large, diverse organisation. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple business units, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and control enhancements.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries, as well as supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate financial and management reports across various business units
  • Complete journal postings, reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end reporting
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis
  • Maintain strong data integrity across key finance systems
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to investigate and resolve variances
  • Participate in audits, stock counts, and ad-hoc financial analysis

About You

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, or similar
  • CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting or reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (e.g., PeopleSoft, Opera, or similar)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
