As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced and confident Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our passionate team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, driving engagement, and helping participants find their forever homes.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding Necessity Housing's reach and impact across the disability housing sector. You'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and building strong partnerships with Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers, support coordinators, not-for-profits, community organisations, and other key NDIS stakeholders.

You'll work closely with our marketing and social media team to deliver promotional and outreach strategies that strengthen referral networks and drive participant engagement, ensuring our SDA homes maintain industry-leading occupancy rates.

This is a work-from-home role with frequent travel across Melbourne and occasional interstate trips for meetings, expos, and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the NDIS and SDA sectors.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with SILs, support coordinators, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent Necessity Housing at industry events, expos, and meetings.
• Collaborate with the marketing and social media team to plan and execute promotional strategies.
• Develop referral pathways and partnership programs that connect participants with suitable SDA housing.
• Drive engagement and awareness initiatives to maintain high occupancy rates.
• Provide regular market insights to support the company's strategic growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Partnerships Manager, or similar role within the NDIS or SDA sector.
• In-depth understanding of NDIS policies, SDA design standards, and participant referral processes.
• Established network within the disability, allied health, or community housing sectors (highly regarded).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and convert business opportunities.
• Confident in presenting and representing the organisation professionally.
• Strategic mindset with a results-driven approach.

Essential Requirements

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current Police Check
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence
• Ability and willingness to travel across Melbourne and interstate as required
