About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Mining Engineer to join the Daunia team as Lead Specialist - Mine Scheduling. This role is critical to ensuring the effective execution of short-to-medium term mine planning and scheduling, while upholding best practices in safety, operational performance, and technical excellence.

Given the current team dynamic, this Lead position can be tailored to suit an individual with either a Truck & Shovel or Drill & Blast background. As a Lead Specialist, you will provide leadership, technical support, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the operation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a technologically advanced operation, including exposure to an autonomous haulage environment.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Superintendent - Mine Scheduling, you will:

  • Develop and optimise mine designs that align with production targets and operational goals
  • Lead the weekly planning process and maintain accurate, up-to-date mining schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and drive site-wide performance initiatives
  • Champion safety by leading in the field and fostering a proactive, safety-first culture across teams

What You'll Bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in an operational mining engineering role.
  • Proficiency in key industry tools such as BlastIQ, Spry, Deswik, and Vulcan
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with proven problem-solving capabilities in fast-paced environments
