Support Worker (Community Access & Home Support) — Mature Conversationalist | Own Car

Location: Armadale, WA (work in/around Armadale)

Type: Casual/Part-time (flexible weekdays; occasional weekends by agreement)

About the role

We're seeking a reliable, mature Support Worker to assist clients in their early mid 60s with community access and light domestic duties. Our clients enjoy thoughtful conversation, especially about world events, politics, and life in general, so we're looking for someone who can hold a warm, intelligent conversation and build a steady rapport.

All genders welcome; due to client comfort, we particularly encourage applicants experienced in supporting male clients.

What you'll do

  • Provide community access and transport around Armadale (coffee outings, walks, appointments, shopping).
  • Engage in respectful, stimulating conversation about current affairs and life topics.
  • Light domestic assistance (vacuuming, bathroom/kitchen tidy, dishes, laundry, general cleaning).
  • Basic meal prep as required.
  • Keep brief notes and maintain professional boundaries.

Must-haves

  • Own reliable car and current Australian driver's licence (km reimbursed).
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Current National Police Check (or willing to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain).
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
  • Strong communication skills; calm, professional manner.
  • Physically able to perform domestic tasks safely.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cert III in Individual Support / Aged Care / Disability (or similar).
  • Experience in community access/psychosocial support.
  • Genuine interest in news, politics, history, and big-picture conversations.
