About the role
Matilda Bay Restaurant is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join our vibrant hospitality team. As Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our renowned waterfront restaurant. This is a full-time position based in our stunning location in Crawley, Western Australia.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and functions, including managing staff, coordinating reservations, and ensuring exceptional customer service
- Monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability
- Liaising with the management team to address any issues or concerns, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Handling customer inquiries and addressing any complaints or feedback in a professional and timely manner
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Providing mentorship and support to the team of wait staff, hosts, and kitchen staff
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar duty manager or function management role
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
- Thorough understanding of hospitality operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and budgeting
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and managing customer feedback
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
- Approved manager card preferred
- Australian work rights or valid work visa
- Current First Aid certificate preferred
