The Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Team conducts research focused on improving the recognition, treatment and prevention of infections in children, with a focus on vaccine-preventable respiratory infections. The team consists of a dynamic group of mixed methods researchers passionate about translating their work into better outcomes for the community through improved public health policy.

**The Opportunity**

***We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about research and public health to support the activities of the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Team as the Program Manager.

Reporting to the Team Co-Leads, this role will provide managerial oversight and coordination of the diverse program of the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Team, within the Wesfarmers Centre for Infectious Diseases and Infections and Vaccines Program. The Program manager will contribute to all areas of team management, stakeholder engagement, project and program support.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Providing daily operational and people management support required to ensure the effective running of the team, and maintenance of a positive team culture.
- Aiding researchers to ensure project timelines and deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Maintaining research ethics and governance oversight for the team’s research program.
- Regular communication with multiple internal and external clinical, research and community stakeholders.

***The ideal applicant will be passionate about making a difference in childhood infectious diseases and have the ability to work well with the team. You will be self-motivated and driven by achieving project outcomes and will thrive working in a fast-paced environment.

Along with this you must also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline (health, social science) or equivalent workplace experience.

***Essential**
- ** **Extensive experience and expertise in managing health research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, facilitate effective teamwork and to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated financial management skills including budgeting for new project and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously and as a part of a team, with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach.

***Desirable**
- ** **Previous work in infectious diseases or public health research.
- Project management qualifications.
- Experience with multiple industry stakeholders (e.g., pharmaceutical companies, Government partners).
