Role Overview:
The Database, Application and DDoS Administrator (Contractor) is responsible for providing technical support across multiple domains including database management, application support, and DDoS protection. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, resolving technical issues, and maintaining high availability and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain databases (SQL, NoSQL) to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Application Support: Provide technical support to customers and internal users, troubleshoot application issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- DDoS Protection: Implement and manage DDoS protection measures, monitor traffic patterns, and respond to potential DDoS attacks in collaboration with security teams.
- Technical Support: Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by customers or identified through monitoring systems.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with third-party providers such as cloud service providers and DDoS protection services to resolve technical and non-technical issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Write and maintain technical documentation, including manuals for applications and testing procedures. Document all bugs, modifications, and feature requests.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute testing procedures to ensure the functionality and performance of applications. Communicate technical bugs and issues to the development team for resolution.
- Security and Compliance: Adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements related to databases, applications, and DDoS protection.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in database administration, application support, and managing DDoS protection measures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and third-party vendors.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure) and security protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Sql Server, Oracle, MySQL) or relevant technical certifications.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools for database and application management.
- Knowledge of network security principles and experience in mitigating DDoS attacks.
- Understanding of agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

This role is based in a dynamic environment where teamwork, initiative, and innovation are encouraged. The Database, Application and DDoS Administrator (Contractor) will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions to our customers.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the work, you must be available to come to work in our office in CBD.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $36.00 – $40.00 per hour
