The Opportunity

Join our team as a Commercial Manager and play a key role in driving revenue growth and organisational success. In this dynamic position, you'll lead commercial strategies, oversee financial planning, and build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. As part of our Commercial Management team, you'll help shape our business direction and implement best-practice processes across departments.

This role requires working from our head office in Mount Waverley, five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Provide decisive leadership as a member of the Commercial Management Group, shaping short- and long-term organisational plans and driving strategic initiatives for international growth. Lead by example, guiding teams to implement the company's vision.
  • Financial & Corporate Governance: Work closely with Finance to build and oversee budgets, monitor financial performance and forecasts, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Safeguard the company's revenue and drive robust reporting and governance practices.
  • Operations & Regional Management: Set strategic direction for regional departments, manage performance to achieve financial targets, and collaborate to refine systems, processes, and cross-departmental communication while enforcing company policies.
  • Departmental & Organisational Effectiveness: Hold outsourced and internal teams accountable, deliver effective leadership, and promote operational excellence by implementing global standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

Professional:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a operational management role.
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to implement best practice methods and procedures across multiple teams or business units.

Personal:

  • Strong leadership with the ability to implement vision and strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Results orientated and self motivated, with a strong work ethic.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proven Entrepreneurial Experience: You have successfully owned and operated your own small business, demonstrating a hands-on approach to strategy, operations, finance, marketing, and customer engagement- seeing the big picture while mastering the details.

  • Comprehensive Consulting Experience: You have provided advisory services to the business, engaging with key stakeholders across functions such as operations, finance, HR, sales, marketing, and technology. You work has enabled organisations to solve complex challenges and drive growth.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing small and medium sized enterprises.
  • A track record of making sound commercial decisions and adapting to evolving circumstance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem – solving abilities, coupled with a pragmatic, results- driven mindset.
  • The capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment, managing competing priorities with agility and integrity.
