Who are we
UNSW isn't like other places you've worked. Yes, we're a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing extraordinary things. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do. Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter.
The Australian Human Rights Institute (the Institute) produces world-leading research and advances debate on critical human rights issues. Through research, education and strategic collaborations, the Institute is committed to protecting rights, dismantling inequality, and fostering a culture of accountability where human rights abuses are challenged and rectified.
Why your role matters
Within the leadership of the Institute, the Senior Officer, Societal Impact and Partnerships plays a key role in translating the Institute's strategy into measurable societal impact, aligned with UNSW's "Progress for All" framework, both locally and globally.
The role will drive the Institute's strategic partnerships, strengthening collaborations across UNSW, and connecting research, education, and engagement initiatives to tangible outcomes. It will build and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including UNSW Divisions, Faculties, and Centres, as well as national and international government agencies, universities, industry, NGOs, trusts, foundations, and individual partners.
A key aspect of the role is evaluating and communicating the outcomes and impact of the Institute's programs and activities. This includes collecting and analysing data, producing reports and insights to inform strategy, demonstrating value, and supporting continuous improvement. The Senior Officer reports to the Business Manager and works closely with the Institute's leadership team.
