Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are currently seeking to appoint a Financial Capability Worker to join our Financial Resilience and Wellbeing Services team in Hervey Bay.
As a Financial Capability Worker, you will work with clients and the community on a one-on-one basis as well as group settings to provide financial literacy education, by way of workshops and information sessions to ease the hardship of people in financial difficulty or crisis by helping people build longer-term capability to budget and manage their money better and make informed choices.
The Financial Capability Worker will work in a mobile capacity in the community, co-locating with organisations to ensure accessibility to clients in need.
What makes a difference for us?
You will need experience and confidence in developing and facilitating tailored community education programs and activities for financial literacy, with a focus on empowerment and resilience building by providing strategies and awareness of current needs and issues which facilitate early intervention outcomes.
In addition to the above you will also be required to have:
- Completed the Financial Literacy Skillset (or willing to complete within first 3 months of employment)
 - Demonstrated competency in financial literacy and knowledge of interventions and approaches to empower individuals and families to make informed budgeting choices
 - Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the creation and delivery of workshops and presentations in a variety of settings
 - Ability to quickly establish sound and trusting working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
 - Current QLD drivers licence
 - Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)
