Role overview

QEC is expanding with a new Early Parenting Centre in Hastings opening late 2025. We seek a visionary Director of Finance and ICT to join the Executive Management Team and partner with the CEO to deliver QEC's strategic goals through leadership of Finance, Payroll & Audit, Information & Communications Technology (ICT), and Procurement & Contract Management. This permanent role is offered as full-time or 0.8FTE (part-time) and is primarily based at Noble Park with occasional travel to regional Victorian sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership by mentoring and developing our Finance and ICT teams, fostering a customer-focused, collaborative culture.
  • Lead ICT strategy, operations and security to enable effective, scalable, and user-friendly systems across QEC.
  • Oversee procurement, contract lifecycle management and vendor relationships including tender leadership and effective contractor engagement.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and monthly/annual financial closes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service delivery, cost efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Partner with the CEO and Executive team on strategic projects including opening the Hastings Early Parenting Centre and future service expansions.

To succeed in the role, you will have:

  • Post graduate qualification in accounting, commerce, or business disciplines
  • Member of CPA, ICAA or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in leading customer focused service delivery teams in Finance and ICT
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing procurement and contract management
  • Ability to influence change and create a culture of continuous improvement
  • Experience in leading tender processes' and effective contractor engagement
  • Experience in risk management and contingency planning
  • Extensive experience in the management of budgeting, accounting and financial operations
