About the role

Delia Group is seeking an experienced and talented Pastry Chef to join the team at their renowned Maha Restaurant in the heart of Melbourne. As a fulltime Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delectable desserts and baked goods that complement the restaurant's exceptional Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine. What you'll be doing

  • Developing and executing innovative pastry menu items
  • Ensuring consistent high quality and presentation of all baked goods and desserts
  • Overseeing the pastry kitchen operations, including inventory management, sourcing of ingredients, and scheduling
  • Collaborating with the head chef to align desserts with the broader culinary vision
  • Training and mentoring the pastry kitchen team
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient pastry kitchen

What we're looking for

  • 2 years- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel environment
  • Exceptional baking and pastry skills, with a keen eye for detail and presentation
  • Strong understanding of flavour profiles and the ability to create unique and innovative desserts
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or patisserie
