The Opportunity
Do you thrive in dynamic environments and want to be part of something bigger—like shaping the future of Australia's finance, technology, and business sectors?
At the Future Skills Organisation (FSO), we're on a national mission to fast-track innovative training solutions in partnership with industry. As one of ten Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs) established by the Australian Government, we're helping reshape how vocational education delivers the skills Australia needs most.
We're now looking for a Project Officer – Finance, Business + Scale to join our collaborative, purpose-led team and play a key role in coordinating national initiatives that build Australia's future workforce.
What You'll Be Doing
As Project Officer, you'll provide critical coordination and support across FSO's projects—helping keep activities on track, documentation in order, and communication flowing.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you'll contribute to planning, procurement, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring our projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
In this hands-on coordination role, you'll:
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and records
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination of activities
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across government, industry, and training providers
- Assist with procurement, budget tracking, and compliance processes
- Identify and flag risks or issues early, suggesting improvements where possible
- Ensure all work meets required standards and contributes to FSO's national objectives
What You'll Bring
- Experience in training, policy, or project support roles
- Familiarity with procurement, scheduling, and budget management
- Experience in program administration and compliance monitoring
- Strong written communication skills, including report writing and documentation management
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder coordination abilities
Even Better
- Experience or knowledge in one or more of FSO's sectors: finance (accounting, insurance, bookkeeping), technology (ICT, AI, cyber), or business (project management, HR, WHS, admin)
- Experience in the VET sector, including training delivery or training product development
- Exposure to government-funded programs or work supporting under-represented cohorts
- Familiarity with tools such as Asana, Hubspot, or GenAI tools like CoPilot
Why Join Us?
Work on nationally significant projects with purpose
Fully remote role – work anywhere in Australia
Professional development and growth opportunities
Inclusive, innovative culture built on curiosity, ambition, accountability, and teamwork
Be part of something meaningful—help shape how Australia trains its future workforce
