Deanes Coaches Group is a proudly family-owned business with over 50 years of experience in passenger transport across the ACT and Snowy Mountains region. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fleet & Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operation of our fleet and facilities across our Canberra and Cooma depots.

About the Role

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance and reliability. The position involves managing workshop staff, coordinating vehicle servicing and repairs, and overseeing the upkeep of depot facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repair schedules for all fleet vehicles
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance plans to reduce downtime
  • Ensure defects are reported, actioned, and repaired promptly
  • Coordinate and book HVIS inspections (6-monthly)
  • Lead and support workshop staff across both depots
  • Manage the ordering, delivery, and stock of vehicle parts
  • Manage budgets, contracts and inventory efficiently
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety requirements
  • Ensure depot facilities are operational and well maintained
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration and servicing
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and Chain of Responsibility obligations

About You

  • Proven experience in fleet, workshop, or facilities management (transport industry preferred)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in heavy vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to work across multiple sites (Canberra and Cooma)
  • Possess a trade or engineering qualification with MR/HR licence
  • Clear communicator with proactive "can do" attitude
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
