Facilities Officer (Part-time, Rotating Roster)

Apex Sentinel is seeking Facilities Officers to support it maintaining secure, compliant, and functional environments. This role is straightforward and steady. You'll have clear responsibilities, strong hourly rates, and allowances that reflect the trust and clearance level involved.

This position follows a rotating roster of two weeks on, one week off, providing a stable and reliable employment rhythm. Facilities Officers can expect to work in five hour shifts.

An on-call function is also required on a rotating basis to support out of hours alarm response, and non-routine facility opening hours.

  • Location: Canberra, ACT
  • Clearance: TSPV required
  • Licence: ACT Security Licence (Class 1A – Guarding)
  • Type: Part-time (rotating roster – 2 weeks on at around 25hrs per week / 1 week off)
  • Rate: Base ~$72 per hour + shift and restriction allowances. Candidates could approximate a total renumeration package of $90,000 /per annum (inclusive of superannuation, shift loading, restriction allowance)

Key Responsibilities


• Conduct daily facility opening and closing in line with approved SOPs.


• Perform regular inspections for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.


• Monitor and report security issues, hazards, or maintenance needs.


• Manage access control and escort contractors or visitors as required.


• Maintain logs and records of access, inspections, and incidents.


• Support WHS compliance, room setups, and site readiness tasks.


• Be on call to respond to alarms or other non-routine security or facility events.

Skills and Experience


• ACT Security Licence (Class 1A – Guarding).


• TSPV security clearance (mandatory).


• 1–3 years' experience in security, facilities, or operational environments.


• Strong reliability, discretion, and communication skills.


• Understanding of WHS and physical security standards.
