The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the procurement of goods, materials, and services both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate standard trading terms and pricing with new and existing suppliers.

  • Generate weekly ordering reports, analyse requirements, and raise purchase orders.

  • Manage consumable and service purchase orders as required.

  • Review vendor price changes and negotiate optimal pricing to minimize business impact.

  • Expedite urgent requirements and address shortages promptly.

  • Update Epicor with the latest delivery information for rescheduled orders.

  • Maintain accurate vendor details, including addresses and pricing.

  • Ensure data integrity within the purchasing system.

  • Provide monthly reports on vendor performance, stock holdings, cost savings, quality returns, and tooling values.

  • Liaise with local and overseas suppliers to ensure material quality and address any claims for faulty or damaged products.

  • Source new products and services as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience and/or a tertiary qualification in purchasing.

  • APICS qualification in Supply Chain and Inventory Management (desirable).

  • Experience in import/export, shipping, and foreign currencies.

  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word.

  • Understanding of Demand Management and Forecasting Software.
