Position Summary
The Event Sales and Experience Manager position sells, manages and plans all social and corporate related events. The responsibilities include selling event spaces, food and beverage service, guestrooms and other hotel services. The role is required to secure and service 'Event Sales' business from the social and corporate market, through active and effective promotion, solicitation and prospecting so that hotel is positioned to exceed financial targets. Plans meetings, events and weddings, co-ordinate with Hotel Operations, Food and Beverage management, Room Division Operation, Finance and external suppliers.
The Role

Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.

Conduct hotel tours and entertain planners of meetings, social events and weddings.

Finalized the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective communication written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports). Ensure accuracy of Banquet checks and provide bill review on the completion of program or event.

Knowledge of audio-visual equipment, internet and hybrid technology.

Conducts extensive competitor research and maintains excellent product knowledge of the hotel.

Ensure contracts are signed, payment policies are adhered to and services contracted are handed over to Banquet Operations with all details clarified and detailed to ensure total customer satisfaction is achieved.

To follow all Capella Events Standards for answering phone enquiries, handling email enquiries, preparing proposals and contracts, conducting Hotel Tours, planning Events, creating Event Confirmations, Event execution and Event follow-up.

To maintain complete records of all sales agreements, contracts and quotes for the hotel as per Capella's Policies & Procedures.

Be primarily responsible for planning and executing MICE events with a face-to-face client contact.

Obtain all the clients event requirements and communicate this information to Guidance Team and operational Department Heads through a group resume.

Upsell all confirmed events to leverage additional revenue opportunities for rooms & catering.

To attend (and prepare for) a daily briefing, Event Confirmation and MICE Communication meetings and any other meetings as required.

Secure and promote the health, safety and welfare of colleagues at Capella Sydney, within Event Service and the hotel in general.
Talent Profile

Hospitality or Sales/ Marketing tertiary qualifications are preferred

Experiences: 3-5 years previous catering sales or events environment experience in luxury hotels/resorts or hospitality sector

Knowledge of Hotel Property and Catering Management Systems (OPERA)

Proficient in Social Tables, MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Proven experience in providing administration support
