About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our vibrant team at Reaghs in Sydney, NSW. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing culinary operations, ensuring consistently high-quality dishes and an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise and creativity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional meals

  • Develop and refine the restaurant's menu, incorporating seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients

  • Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation, presentation and service

  • Monitor food costs and inventory to maintain profitability and efficiency

  • Liaise with suppliers to source high-quality, fresh produce and ingredients

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment in the kitchen

  • Provide training and development opportunities for kitchen staff to enhance their skills

  • Comply with all food safety and health regulations

What we're looking for

  • Formal culinary training or a recognized qualification in the hospitality industry

  • Expertise in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a strong understanding of flavor profiles and food trends

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle challenges in a fast-paced environment
