About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Smallgoods Room Supervisor to oversee the production and packing of our artisan smallgoods range. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining product quality, food safety standards, and efficient output across all smallgoods items.

The successful candidate will bring experience in meat processing or smallgoods production, have a high level of attention to detail, and be comfortable leading a small team in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential to ensuring our hams, bacon, pastrami, sausages, and other goods are consistently produced and packed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of a wide range of smallgoods products including:

  • Whole muscle items (e.g. hams, bacon, pastrami)

  • Cooked sausages (e.g. frankfurts, mortadella)
  • Fresh sausages and blends
  • Coordinate daily production schedules in alignment with factory requirements
  • Oversee slicing, packing, and labelling to ensure accuracy, presentation, and compliance
  • Ensure HACCP procedures are followed, including cooling, traceability, and shelf-life controls
  • Supervise staff within the smallgoods room, including delegation, support, and training
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all workspaces and equipment
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients, packaging, and casings and report as needed
  • Liaise with Factory Management to report on production issues, equipment needs, or workflow improvements
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in smallgoods production or meat processing
  • Proven ability to manage a team in a food production setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and traceability procedures
  • Comfortable operating slicers, vacuum sealers, and sausage-making equipment
  • High attention to detail in packing, labelling, and presentation
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in chilled environments
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm.

Flexibility with hours and ability to work additional shifts when required.
