Organisational Purpose

Established in 1978, Capital Chemist has grown and now has over 45 outlets across ACT, New South Wales and Tasmania. Our award-winning stores provide quality pharmaceutical and health care services to their clients. Our Support Office (CCSO) provides support to the wider group including professional advisory, retail support, bookkeeping and payroll, accounting, IT and a range of business administration services.

Role Purpose

As Retail Operations Coordinator you play a key role in supporting the effective execution of our retail brand and strategy across our network of community pharmacies. You ensure consistent implementation of retail standards, provide practical advice, assist with store performance analysis, support training of pharmacy team members and support key initiatives to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency and compliance. With a hands-on approach and collaborative mindset, you work closely with stakeholders across the business.

  • Ensure smooth daily operations and timely communication to stores, improving execution of policies, procedures, and promotional initiatives.

  • Work in partnership with the Retail Operations Manager to gather insights on brand strategy execution and identify gaps with actionable solutions.

  • Support consistent retail standards and compliance, contributing to QCPP accreditation and safe handling of scheduled medicines.

  • Support inventory and stock control initiatives, including waste reduction, stocktakes, and supplier compliance to optimise availability.

  • Liaise between Support Office and store teams to ensure clear communication of business priorities and timely execution of initiatives.

  • Contribute to category reviews by providing evidence-based input drawn from store observations and operational experience.

Experience/Knowledge Required

  • Previous experience in retail operations, preferably within pharmacy or healthcare retail

  • Strong understanding of retail compliance and community pharmacy environment in Australia

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects across different locations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and POS/reporting systems

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Retail Management or Business (preferred)

  • QCPP knowledge or pharmacy retail experience highly regarded
