About the role

Metroplant & Civil Services is seeking  highly motivated and safety-focused Traffic Controllers to join our team in Highett and Werribee, VIC. As a casual Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for managing the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians at our construction sites, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance.

What you'll be doing

  • Directing and controlling the flow of traffic, including vehicles, machinery, and pedestrians, at construction sites
  • Implementing and monitoring traffic management plans to minimise disruptions and ensure the safety of workers and the public
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with site supervisors, construction workers, and members of the public
  • Identifying and responding to potential safety hazards in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensuring strict adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Providing comprehensive reports on traffic management activities and any incidents or near-misses

What we're looking for

  • A valid Traffic Controller certification - TC1, TMI1, TC2, TMI2
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of implementing effective traffic management strategies
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is highly desirable
  • Current drivers Licence
  • OH & S / white card
