About the Role

As Lending Area Manager, you will lead a network of Mobile Bankers and/or Direct Bankers within our Retail Banking division.

Reporting to the Head of Lending, you will be responsible for driving lending portfolio and product growth by embedding best practices that enhance new business acquisition, customer retention, credit risk excellence, and operational efficiency.

You will coach, lead, and inspire your team to deliver on business growth targets, while uplifting lender capability and ensuring exceptional customer engagement across all channels.

You will execute the Bank's strategic priorities at a team level, ensuring alignment with department and channel goals. A key focus will be developing your team's skills in business development, relationship management, credit submissions, and customer engagement.

You'll collaborate closely with internal partners as well as build strong relationships with customers, community partners, referrers, and sponsorship representatives. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and customer-centric team culture.

About you

You are an experienced sales leader with a proven track record in coaching teams to achieve growth targets in lending sales roles.

You bring expertise in business development, residential lending credit submissions (for both PAYG and Non-PAYG customers), and a deep understanding of the Australian retail lending landscape. You are commercially astute, proactive, and accountable, with strong financial acumen and the ability to manage a significant revenue portfolio.

Your leadership style is collaborative and inclusive—you build engaged teams, foster diverse perspectives, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. You excel at influencing and negotiating, championing change, and ensuring your team operates with the highest standards of compliance and risk management.

Above all, you are customer-oriented and passionate about developing your team's capability to deliver exceptional results and experiences.
