As we expand our commercial lending capability, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Lending Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in building meaningful client relationships, driving sustainable lending practices, and shaping the future of our business.

The Opportunity

This is a newly created role where you'll partner with brokers, referrers, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional lending outcomes. Reporting directly to the Head of Credit, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy and execution across our growing commercial credit function. You will bring specialist insight into complex commercial transactions, evaluate new business opportunities, and help establish Finance One's position in the market.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assessing new commercial finance opportunities, across the full loan origination lifecycle, from initial scenario through to analysis, credit approval, legal instructions, and settlement.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis of tax returns, financial statements, and cash flow statements to support credit submissions.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, Head of Credit, National Sales Manager, and internal legal & compliance members to ensure deals are structured to balance growth with risk.
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers, brokers, accountants, and referrers, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Represent Finance One's brand professionally, demonstrating adaptability in different client scenarios and maintaining the client's best interests as the central focus.
  • Stay across the lending market and competitor analysis to inform product positioning, commercial strategy, and potential for growth initiatives.
  • Proactively own a new and exciting role, where you drive Finance One's commercial lending capability and have a significant impact on lending decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial banking or commercial credit assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, business structures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or related field (highly regarded).
  • Strong capability in driving outcomes, strategic initiatives, and innovation.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyse complex financial and tax documents.
  • Commercially astute, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership in an evolving role.
