We're not hiring an assistant. We're hiring a future branch manager — someone ready to lead from the front, grow with the business, and get stuck in.
Travellers Autobarn is a global campervan rental brand — born in Australia, now rolling across New Zealand, Japan, and the U.S. Our Sydney team is growing, and we're looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to help run the show, lead the crew, and learn the ropes to step up when the time comes.
This is not a desk job. It's hands-on, fast-paced, and customer-facing. If you're organised, mechanically confident, and eager to grow, this is your launchpad into leadership. You'll get real responsibility, real training, and real opportunity — but you need to bring the energy, work ethic, and team mindset to match.

What You'll Do
- Suppport the Branch Manager in day-to-day operations of our Sydney branch — vehicles, people, and processes.
- Lead from the front — safety checks, cleanliness, workflow.
- Own fleet presentation, cleaning oversight, safety, and maintenance readiness.
- Deliver top-tier customer service, and own the experience.
- Help drive results — from KPIs and maintenance records to supplier coordination and expense tracking.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Drive local sales, up-sell add-ons, and support vehicle sales.
What You Bring
Must-Haves:
- A valid driver's licence.
- Solid mechanical or handyman confidence — you're not afraid of tools.
- Strong communicator — clear, calm, and supportive.
- Great work ethic — shows up, steps up, follows through.
- Comfort with computers, apps, and admin tasks.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in automotive, rentals, tourism, or hospitality.
- Team leadership or supervisory background.
- A passion for travel, vans, and life on the road.
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $70,000 - $75,000 (and that's in your control — your results = your earnings)
- Base salary: $60,000 + Super
- Monthly commission on insurance, add-ons, and vehicle sales — no cap.
- Monthly performance bonus – up to $500
- Free annual international campervan hire
- Full training, ongoing support, and a supportive global team
- Not a desk job — you'll be in the yard, on the floor, in the vans.
- Not for clock-watchers — you set the pace and rhythm.
- Not for fence-sitters — we want someone who leads, not follows
