Qualifications & experience

  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with others.
  • A current NSW Working with Children's check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement). - Unencumbered Australian or NSW driver's license. - NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and complete formal documentation in relevant software programs. Individual and team work. - Ability to think quick on your feet and make informed decisions in complex situations.
  • Be flexible and work non-standard hours at times when required.
  • Hold a current first aid certificate, or be willing to obtain one.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • The Supervised Contact Worker position is responsible for providing high quality supervision for visits between children and/or young persons and their families.
  • This position must ensure that the child's best interests are protected during contact. The aim is to facilitate a safe and constructive contact visit comprising of positive interactions between the parent/participant and child/children in order to build and/or maintain their relationship.
  • The Supervised Contact Worker will work with children in out of home care as well as children from separated families. Multiple CASUAL positions in Newcastle for IMMEDIATE START.
