Join our team at Café Latte – a boutique café in the heart of Toorak, known for our premium breakfasts, warm atmosphere, and growing demand for private events.
We're looking for a skilled and motivated chef to join us either full-time or part-time. The ideal candidate will be confident with classic breakfast and brunch offerings and excited to grow with us as we expand our functions and events catering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute high-quality breakfast and brunch dishes with consistency
- Maintain a clean, well-organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times
- Work independently in the kitchen, with support from a kitchen assistant on weekends
- Assist in the development and preparation of function menus (e.g. canapé, buffet, or plated options)
- Manage stock rotation, ordering, and basic kitchen administration
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards
- Adapt to changing menus and be willing to contribute creatively
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a café or similar kitchen environment
- Solid skills in breakfast and brunch cooking (poaching, plating, speed, etc.)
- Experience or interest in small-scale event catering (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and handle service solo when needed
- Strong focus on cleanliness and kitchen hygiene – non-negotiable
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow with the business
- Full working rights in Australia; no sponsorship available
- If on a visa, you must have at least 6 months remaining
