About the RoleVentia provides comprehensive repair and maintenance services for the Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) of some of Australia's most advanced Defence equipment including light armoured vehicles, protected mobility vehicles, marine craft and surveillance systems.
This is critical in supporting ADF units preparing for and returning from operations and exercises, ensuring Defence assets are safe, effective, and always ready for deployment.
Ventia are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product or service quality.
This role bridges strategy and execution by leading Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Take full accountability for optimising performance in alignment with the Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) Strategic Performance Measures and System Health Indicators, ensuring that all operational activities contribute to the achievement of key performance outcomes.
- Identify, cost, and process proposed Continuous Improvement Events (CIEs) for submission to the Commonwealth, ensuring that each proposal is strategically aligned, financially justified, and operationally feasible.
- Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies and processes that aim to reduce the total cost of ownership across the organisation, while maintaining or improving asset performance and reliability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging innovations to proactively identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, service delivery, and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate directly with Commonwealth stakeholders to co-create innovative solutions that deliver mutual value, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with Commonwealth priorities and expectations.
- Align internal processes and performance metrics with Commonwealth expectations to drive increased productivity, transparency, and accountability through the effective use of data and analytics.
- Foster a culture of innovation by generating new ideas and encouraging team members across the organisation to contribute creative solutions that improve business outcomes and service delivery.
- Promote and implement a technology-led service delivery framework that leverages digital tools and automation to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve service quality.
About YouTo be successful in your application, you will have a tertiary qualification in Business or Engineering with experience in a similar role with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
You will also possess:
- Asset management strategy and lifecycle planning
- Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Data analysis and performance measurement (KPIs, dashboards)
- Process mapping and optimization
- Emerging technologies and digital transformation tools
- Be a forward thinker, up to date with current trends and technology
- A natural problem solver with the ability to identify solutions, implement strategies and generate solutions.
