Executive team

The Junior Medical OƯicer Forum of Queensland (JMOFQ) is a subsidiary of Prevocational Medical Accreditation Queensland (PMAQ), the internship accrediting body for all training hospitals in Queensland. The JMOFQ was created to enhance the professional relationship between PMAQ and JMOs. JMOFQ comprises representatives from each training hospital facility in Queensland and the Executive Committee. Multiple forums occur in a year where the JMOFQ executive team meet with the JMOFQ representatives to discuss junior doctor training, issues facing junior doctors, and improvements that can be made to enhance junior doctor training and experiences.

• New role: Rural and remote representatives - are required to be based at non-metropolitan hospitals as their principal place of practice for 2026
• This survey only pertains to executive committee positions. Hospital representative applications will open early next year and are organised by individual sites.

Role Description

General expectations as part of the executive committee:

- Participate in executive committee meetings (approximately 1/month)

- Attend all JMOFQ forums (3/year)

- Contribute towards actioning tasks assigned to JMOFQ - Work towards meeting agenda deadlines

Chair and Deputy Chair

Assuming the role of deputy chair will imply a 3-year commitment to JMOFQ as you progress to

become chair and immediate past chair (non-voting member).

• Chair JMOFQ forums

• Represent the Executive Committee at meetings of the following groups:

a. PMAQ Accreditation Committee

b. Medical Workforce Advisory Group

c. Medical Schools Liaison Committee

d. Australian Medical Association Queensland, Council of Doctors in Training

e. Australasian Junior Medical O icers' Committee, and other forums as

required.

• Report to PMAQ any concerns raised by the JMOFQ regarding the quality of junior

medical doctor education and training, where applicable.

• Prepare an annual report for the PMAQ Accreditation Committee

Secretary

• Scribe minutes for all executive meetings, JMOFQ forums

• Prepare a report for PMAQ from each JMOFQ forum

• Assist in communications between JMOFQ and representatives, junior doctors

Projects Officers

• Plan and draft projects and policies

• Liase with representatives to collaborate, collate feedback

International Medical Graduate (IMG) Representative

• Plan and draft projects and policies a ecting IMGs

• Liase with IMG representatives to collaborate, collate feedback

Rural and Remote Hospital Representatives

• Representatives are required to be based at non-metropolitan hospitals as their

principal place of practice in 2026

• Plan and draft projects and policies a ecting rural and remote JMOs

• Liase with hospital representatives to collaborate, collate feedback

Media and Engagement Officers

• Monitor social media (Instagram, Facebook)

• Create captivating posts to disseminate JMOFQ updates or related updates e.g. MOCA

updates to junior doctors

• Liase with sponsors

Hospital Representatives Coordinator

• Lead communications between JMOFQ and hospital medial education units and

representatives

• Plan and collect feedback from representatives ahead of each forum

• Present feedback to JMOFQ executive committee

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills, including team management and strategic planning abilities.
• Organizational and operational expertise, with an emphasis on project management and process optimization.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Medical Doctor from intern to principal house officer accepted (i.e. not on a specialty training program)
• Experience in an executive capacity or similar leadership role is beneficial.
