Role description

The Business Development Representative will work collaboratively with our Revenue Team being Relationship Managers, Technical Client Support and subject experts. Our teams establish valuable client relationships by offering effective, rapid and personal support. This role involves researching and mapping our prospects and building a strong picture of their needs, their industry sector, their business model and corporate structure. The role will migrate into becoming a Relationship Manager.

We have a strong focus on Australia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Canada and US. The remit requires real planning and organisation. The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a professional research environment. Ideally it would help if you have worked in market intelligence, energy transition, a mineral economics firm, engineering consultancy practice, environmental practice, or software company.

We would prefer if you have 2-3 years' experience. We offer a high levels of autonomy, working with the management team in a comfortable environment.

What will the role look like?

You would help build sales channels with new and existing clients to promote our research. You will have a strong input into the overall strategy, product development and pricing to underpin our growth.

  • Help build long term client relationships in new industry sectors relating to global energy, metals and resources.
  • Co-ordination and assist in the management of new business sales activities.
  • Devise strategies and then build relationships with prospective clients, to offer focused, sharp and effective solutions.
  • Oversee your client strategies and take responsibility for its implementation to help increase overall revenue and build loyalty.
  • Assist and promote our services to the wider public through your research, marketing & sales strategies.
  • In particular, build relationships with decision-makers by offer entry level assistance that leads development opportunities.

About You

You should have experience as a revenue professional in an integrated Sales Team. It helps if you enjoy researching and writing to build effective communication channels. Of course you should be people-oriented and business minded.

You should be interested in the energy, energy transition and the resources sector. You must have an appreciation of renewable energy, net-zero targeting, resources, economics and technology.

Key Requirements:

  • First, you must be a good researcher and writer - this is 80% of our success. Then a bright and good verbal communicator.
  • 2+ years' experience ideally within professional services or market intelligence.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with experience using CRM systems (Salesforce).
  • Experience in prospecting, lead generation, and assisting build deals.
  • Professional communication and presentation skills, vital to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing targets & KPIs.
  • Willingness to travel as for client meetings and industry events.

Because we work in collaborative teams, this role will ask for a full-time in-office work requirement, in Sydney CBD. There may be some work place flexibility depending on our work schedule.
