The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Innovation and Technology to lead our IT, GIS, and Records Management functions. This is your opportunity to shape the digital future of our Council and community.

The Role

As the Manager Innovation and Technology, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across IT, GIS, and Records Management.
  • Drive innovation and enhance the use of technology across the organisation.
  • Lead a high-performing team of information professionals.
  • Manage procurement, contractor relationships, and service performance.
  • Oversee risk management, information security, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Deliver projects and services within budget, time, and quality expectations.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Spatial Science, or Information and Records Management.
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary IT services, network architecture, and digital transformation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • C Class Manual Driver's Licence (mandatory).
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Business/Management (desirable).
