Join our iconic organisation at the commencement of our new 10-year strategic cycle as the Head of People, Culture, & Safety. This high-impact leadership role offers the right balance between strategic development and vital hands-on engagement. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced HR professional ready to take on their next leadership challenge and drive significant impact across South Australia.

As part of our Senior Executive Team and leader of our People, Culture and Safety function, you will directly influence our organisational success. Supported by a dedicated team of three, you will collaborate with the Executive, the Board, and leaders across our multiple Group entities. Beyond day-to-day operations, you will lead the innovation of our People, Culture, and Safety services, guide the entire employee life cycle, and ensure the well-being and growth of our diverse national team. Your expertise and supportive leadership style will be essential in shaping our culture and achieving operational excellence.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and empower the existing HR & Safety team of professionals, fostering a high-performing, supportive and collaborative environment
  • Champion and embed a positive organisational culture that is aligned with our core values
  • Partner with leaders across the business to strengthen employee engagement, well-being, and overall workforce capability
  • Coach and support managers to build their confidence and effectiveness in leading and developing their teams
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement, learning and development, and offboarding.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Senior Executive Team and Senior Management on complex HR and employee relations matters, including interpretation of multiple modern awards, legislation, employment terms, performance management, and conduct issues
  • Lead and continuously improve our policies, systems, and compliance frameworks to ensure best practice and legal adherence
  • Manage the annual People Culture and Safety calendar including cyclical activities such as performance reviews, policy and procedure reviews, required compliance reporting and engagement surveys
  • Design and deliver impactful learning, capability-building, and leadership development initiatives
  • Drive the optimisation of employee experiences by strategically leveraging our HR systems, including Expr3ss, Culture Amp, and ELMO
  • Streamline processes and enhance efficiency across all People Culture and Safety platforms

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Extensive HR generalist experience at senior management level, demonstrating confidence in working closely with executive leadership/Board.
  • A contemporary leadership style focused on empowerment, professional support, and actively championing your team.
  • Expert knowledge of Australian employment and Work Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to influence outcomes, solve complex problems, and foster strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the proven ability to effectively balance strategic priorities with vital day-to-day operational demands
  • Familiarity with contemporary HR systems and technology (ELMO experience is highly desirable).
