About the role

A Fixed-Term contract until April hours per fortnight, 7 x pm shifts and 1x shifts per fortnight, with 5 days in a row off every 2nd week

We are seeking a passionate and experienced House Companion who is medication endorsed, to join our team at the Korongee Dementia Village, for a fixed-term contract. This fixed-term part-time role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate and person-centred care in a purpose-built, dementia-friendly environment located in Glenorchy, Tasmania.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing high-quality personal care and daily living assistance to residents, personal hygiene, mobility support, and social engagement
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to implement individualised care plans that promote residents' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life
  • Fostering a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that celebrates residents' uniqueness and supports their cognitive, physical, and emotional needs
  • Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  • Medication Endorsed for a minimum of 2 years
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care)
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in providing person-centred care to older adults, particularly those living with dementia
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with residents, families, and the care team
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and quality of life for residents
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
