About the role

We have two day roles we are recruiting for:

60 hours per fortnight, 7am-3pm working every 2nd weekend — must be medication endorsed

75 hours per fortnight, Monday - Friday 7am-3pm

We are seeking passionate and experienced House Companions to join our team at the Korongee Dementia Village, part of Glenview Community Services\' dynamic and innovative aged care services. These part-time roles offer the opportunity to provide compassionate and person-centred care in a purpose-built, dementia-friendly environment located in Glenorchy, Tasmania.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

  • Providing high-quality personal care and daily living assistance to residents, including medication administration (if selected for the medication endorsed line), personal hygiene, mobility support, and social engagement
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to implement individualised care plans that promote residents' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life
  • Fostering a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that celebrates residents' uniqueness and supports their cognitive, physical, and emotional needs
  • Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification
  • Current Medication Endorsement for the medication roster
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care to older adults, particularly those living with dementia
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with residents, families, and the care team
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and quality of life for residents
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Current right to work in Australia
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clear National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS endorsement
