We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as House Companions at a purpose-built, dementia-friendly village located in Glenorchy, Tasmania.
Job DescriptionAs a House Companion, you will provide high-quality personal care and daily living assistance to residents, including medication administration, personal hygiene, mobility support, and social engagement. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team to implement individualised care plans that promote residents' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
You will foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that celebrates residents' uniqueness and supports their cognitive, physical, and emotional needs.
Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge is essential.
Qualifications- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification
- Current Medication Endorsement for the medication roster
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care to older adults, particularly those living with dementia
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with residents, families, and the care team
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and quality of life for residents
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Current right to work in Australia
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clear National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS endorsement
