The Role:

Our Fun Dining venue Downtown Istanbul is currently looking for an experienced, hands on Chef for an immediate start. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and is interested in growing their career in hospitality. The position will include varying shifts including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate dishes to venue standards and recipes.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
  • Ensure all dishes leave the pass in a timely manner, especially during peak service.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and WHS procedures in line with QLD regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workstation and uphold high kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Monitor and record temperature logs, labelling, and storage procedures.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and assist others during peak times.
  • Communicate effectively with FOH staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Support senior chefs in training junior kitchen staff when required.

Stock & Prep Management

  • Complete daily prep efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and minimising wastage.
  • Notify senior chefs of low stock levels or issues with quality.

Quality & Menu Execution

  • Uphold the restaurant's food standards and commitment to quality.
  • Follow recipes and SOP's consistently.
  • Contribute ideas for specials or menu development if applicable.

Operational Support

  • Set up and close down stations correctly each shift.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Support smooth daily operations in line with the venue's expectations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 Years experience in a restaurant setting
  • An excellent grasp of seasonal produce and food trends
  • Weekend and evening availability is a must
  • Prior experience in Turkish or Mediterranean Cuisine desired but not essential.
