At Barkuma, we're committed to supporting individuals with disability to live their best lives, and we're looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to help us create a workplace where our employees can thrive. This is a hands-on, people-focused role that supports the full employee life cycle from recruitment and onboarding through to learning and development, engagement, compliance, and offboarding. You'll work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, providing guidance, ensuring compliance, and helping to maintain our inclusive and supportive culture.

You'll also have the exciting opportunity to be involved in the implementation of our new HR and payroll system, helping to shape more efficient and user-friendly processes for our teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive HR services and advice to managers and employees.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and induction programs.
  • Support learning and development activities, including training needs analysis and annual staff development sessions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation, including NDIS requirements.
  • Support cultural development and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in HR projects, process improvements, and the implementation of the new HR system.

This position will be based on our site located at South Terrace, with the ability to work and travel across different Barkuma sites (Elizabeth/Holden Hill/Hindmarsh).

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Australian Fair Work Commission processes, awards, and enterprise agreements (or willingness to learn).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (highly regarded), or equivalent experience in HR coordination.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
