Summary:

The Financial Controller will lead the Finance Team and provide professional advice and support to NQA with the objective of achieving optimal investment return and long-term value creation for shareholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial reporting and transaction processing functions.
  • Lead, motivate and mentor the Finance team to instil a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement and work toward implementing best practice.
  • Support the CFO in managing the relationship with the Board and Audit and Risk Committee on financial reporting and compliance matters.
  • Deliver and embed the transition to new Finance and Procurement System and other financially related systems improvements.
  • Develop and implement financial management systems and procedures across the organisation including internal controls.
  • Prepare financials of the Group on a monthly basis to present an accurate picture of the financial position and results from operations of the Group for the period under review.
  • Manage and review the accounting treatment of transactions of the Group to ensure compliance and optimisation that it is consistent with Group's risk appetite
  • Implement, monitor and maintain financial systems and internal control procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate financial policies and procedures.
  • Proactive management of the year end reporting process to provide timely and accurate annual financial statements.
  • Prepare statutory and corporate returns in accordance with accounting standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors on account disclosure, procedural changes and other audit issues.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualifications in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • CA or CPA qualified or equivalent.
  • Highly developed technical skills.
  • Proven experience in improving business processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in building and sustaining relationships with a particular focus on leading, as well as being a part of a team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Min. 5 years' experience in Financial Controller (or similar) role in complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, time, task and priority management.
  • Advocate for teamwork, collaboration and customer service.
